Work and residence permits in Georgia
We check the ground, assemble the documents and run the filing for a work permit and a residence permit. The decision itself is taken by the competent authority. We answer for the preparation and the conduct of the matter, not for the outcome.
What the work covers
- Working out the ground. Employment, business, study, family reunification, property, investment. Each has its own set of documents and its own tight spots. Often more than one ground is available, and they are not equivalent in their consequences.
- Checking your current status and the dates. Until when you are in the country lawfully, and what follows from that for the order of filing.
- Work permit: preparing the application and running the process.
- The residence permit pack assembled around the chosen ground.
- Translations, notarial certification and apostille support.
- Cross-checking the documents against each other. Different spellings of a name, mismatched dates, certificates that have expired: this is the most common way time gets lost.
- Filing and running the matter through to the decision.
- Dealing with a refusal. We read the wording, separate what can be fixed from what cannot, and say which route applies: an appeal or a fresh application, possibly on a different ground.
Why the ground matters more than the pack
The set of documents follows from the ground, not the other way round. The same circumstance can support different statuses, and they differ in how long they last, whether they allow you to work, and whether the period counts towards permanent status. So we start with the ground.
What is not included
- The decision itself. It is taken by a state authority. Nobody, ourselves included, can guarantee it, and we do not make promises of that kind.
- Obtaining documents in another country where they are issued to the applicant in person or require them to be present.
- Health insurance where it is required.
- Anything the applicant must do personally: attendance, biometrics, examinations where these are provided for.
- Finding an employer.
What you will need
- Your passport, every page that has anything on it.
- All current and previous Georgian documents: residence permit, ID card, registration certificates.
- A record of entries and exits over recent years.
- Documents for the ground you have in mind: employment contract, company documents, a letter from the place of study, marriage or birth certificates, an extract for the property.
- Proof of where you live in Georgia.
- Documents on income and its source, where the ground turns on that.
- Family members' documents if you are applying together.
- Every previous refusal and the decision on it, with dates.
- What has already been apostilled and translated, and what has not.
A missing document is not a reason to wait. It often turns out at the first meeting that half of what was collected is not needed and what is needed is missing.
How the work goes
- You describe the task, through the form on the site, by email or in a messenger.
- A lawyer goes through what you have, what still has to be obtained and where the tight spots are.
- We agree the scope and the price. You pay nothing before that point.
- We sign a contract in which the scope of the service is set out in writing.
- You hand over the documents, we check the set and tell you what is missing.
- We run the procedure and keep you informed at every step.
- You receive the result and the full set of documents.

What is outside our control
- The authority's decision and how long it takes.
- What documents are required. This gets refined, and has to be checked against the position on the day of filing.
- What authorities in another country do: issuing certificates, apostilles, legalisation.
- Circumstances that already exist: earlier refusals, breaches of the terms of stay, discrepancies in documents from earlier years.
We say where a matter is weak before the work starts. If in our assessment the ground is shaky, you will hear that plainly rather than after the filing.
Describe your situation: the ground you have in mind and what you have already collected. We will tell you what is missing and which route to take.

It sets out the scope of our service and the general order of the procedure. It is not legal advice and not a public offer: the scope, the timing and the price for a particular matter are agreed individually and recorded in the contract. Requirements, fees and practice change, so anything here is checked against the position on the day you apply. In many procedures the final decision rests with the competent authority and its discretion, so a positive outcome cannot be guaranteed.
